This is a half year course designed to inform and prepare students for their future role as eligible voters in our American society. We will analyze the different functions, roles, and responsibilities of both The U.S.Government and ourselves as American citizens. The goal of this course is to urge the students to begin to formulate their own unique opinions on the nature of our democratically elected government and the decisions it must make on a variety of issues that are present in today’s society. We will do this by looking at and discussing several social, political, and economic issues that our nation is currently dealing with through the use of news articles, discussions, presentations, and related films.
